Blue Singing Poppies

I painted this yesterday, at 5:30 am, for a woman named Ashlee. It was bought for her as a birthday gift by a friend of mine. I had to mail it off myself so it would arrive on time. I included a little note wishing her a happy day.
It is neat sending mail to people I have never met. I can imagine her reaction of interest and curiosity about who I am, and I know she will smile, because it is something other than a bill.

Flowers for Sharon

Recently, I was asked to paint a picture, by my awesome friend Corinne, as a gift for her mother. She gave me a picture to match, dimensions and specifications. Here is what I came up with:

The picture I had to match:

I had fun painting this, and her mom loved it. Success!

Mom's Rock

Mom's Rock : Christmas 2011

A gift for my mother this year was a rock, this rock to be exact. On the 24th, my family took a stroll on the beach in Malibu. Mom found this rock and told me to paint it. So, I did, and gave it right back to her for Christmas. She loved it. Thanks for the inspiration Momma!
Painting rocks is my new hobby. Found canvases are the best, to me. They are unique and can add life to whatever you create on them. I love nature, and intertwining it with artwork.

more to come...

Pieces of Flowers

I looked myself up on the internet.. Something lots of us like to do when bored (or secretly to see if anyone recognized my artwork and posted it online somewhere). These bits of paintings were used on the promotion of my RAW art show that happened a couple weeks ago. More flowers can be found on my etsy shop

Take me up... and away

I finished this painting today... I felt like I could be lifted away in one of these beautiful man made creations. I would float up in the clouds and enjoy a picnic. I would bring a blanket and maybe my ipod too.

I have always wanted to go see a hot air balloon festival. I think about all the whimsical and colorful photos I could take while being there, and watching all of the extravagantly oversized material fill with air.. I would feel as if I had shrunk to a miniature size while walking between them.
